Frequently Asked Questions
How long are sessions?
The initial (intake) session lasts 53-60 minutes. Subsequent individual sessions will be 53 minutes.
What does the Intake session look like?
During the intake session, we’ll review the policies and procedures outlined in the paperwork you completed beforehand. This includes discussing confidentiality, the best ways to contact us, and answering any initial questions you may have.
We’ll then gather some general background information and explore the reasons you’re seeking therapy. You’re encouraged to share at your own pace—whatever feels comfortable for you.
Toward the end of the session, we’ll begin identifying your goals for therapy. If you’re not sure yet, that’s completely okay—we’ll work together to clarify them over time. We’ll also discuss potential therapeutic approaches and techniques that might be a good fit for your needs.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’re committed to checking in with you regularly to ensure your needs and goals are being met effectively.
What is your cancellation policy?
When you schedule an appointment, that time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. This gives us the opportunity to offer the time slot to others on the waiting list.
If you miss your appointment or fail to provide 24-hour notice, there will be a $130 charge. Please note that this fee is out-of-pocket and is not reimbursable by insurance. We also require a credit card to be kept on file for all clients.
