Meet Susan Erickson, MA, LSW

Are you navigating a major life transition, feeling burned out at work, or struggling to support your child’s unique needs? You don’t have to face it alone.

I specialize in helping women — especially mothers and educators — find clarity, balance, and resilience during overwhelming seasons of change.

As a therapist and school social worker, I understand firsthand the exhaustion that comes with caring for others while trying to hold everything together. Teachers in particular face unique pressures, and I provide a safe space to process stress, prevent burnout, and reconnect with purpose.

I am also passionate about supporting parents of neurodiverse children. Having attended IEP meetings on both sides of the table, I know the challenges families face at home and in the classroom. Together, we’ll build strategies that honor both your child’s growth and your own well-being.

At the heart of my practice is a simple truth: you deserve support, renewal, and hope as you move into your next chapter. Whether you’re redefining yourself after a life transition, navigating professional burnout, or parenting through complex challenges, I will walk with you as you reclaim confidence and create a life that feels sustainable and meaningful.

Step Into Nature: Walk and Talk Therapy

In addition to online sessions, I offer in-person walk and talk therapy at the beautiful Buffalo Creek Forest Preserve, located in Long Grove, IL. Being outdoors allows us to engage in the therapeutic process while moving through nature—creating space for calm, clarity, and connection. Whether you're looking for a more relaxed setting or feel grounded in natural surroundings, walk and talk sessions offer a unique path to healing and self-discovery.
